Winstrol

Winstrol Introduction

Winstrol (Stanozolol), AKA “Winny”, is known as being the third most popular anabolic steroid in existence and is as equally as widely used. It is a derivative of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), and made its claim to fame gaining even more popularity with the 1988 summer Olympics where Canadian Olympic sprinter Ben Johnson supposedly tested positive for it. Winstrol had been a very popular anabolic steroid beforehand, but it was the 1988 summer Olympic event where Ben Johnson tested positive that skyrocketed its popularity to greater heights. Stanozolol was developed in 1959, and shortly afterwards in 1961 was released onto the prescription market under the brand name Winstrol. Winstrol was then approved for the treatment of many different medical indications. Being a DHT derivative, it is known for its inability to exhibit any estrogenic effects on the body and therefore many athletes and bodybuilders feel it is best suited for lean mass gaining and cutting phases where the loss of body fat is the primary goal. Winstrol is available in two forms: an oral format and an injectable format, both of which are the exact same structurally at the chemical level. This is to say that pharmacologically, they are the exact same, and in particular, both possess C17-alpha alkylation which enables both to be measurably liver toxic, although administering Winstrol orally is less liver toxic than injection.

Winstrol Doses

Winstrol holds an anabolic strength rating of 320, which indicates that it is slightly above three times the anabolic strength of Testosterone, which should indicate that the Winstrol doses required to elicit a solid effect on muscle mass and strength gains doesn’t need to be in the astronomical ranges. Starting with the injectable format, 50mg every other day is normally a perfect beginner Winstrol dose. Intermediate users might find added effect at 100mg every other day, and advanced doses of Winstrol might rise as high as 150mg every other day, but this is usually unnecessary as many people will experience desirable effects on mass and strength at 50 – 100mg every other day. As far as the oral format is concerned, oral Winstrol doses are generally the exact same as the injectable. Beginners will find desirable gains at 25mg daily, often stacked with some form of Testosterone. Intermediate users might venture higher towards the 50mg daily range and normally no higher, even for advanced users. A 50mg per day dose of Winstrol equates to 350mg weekly, which is plenty sufficient to provide significant gains. Winstrol does, however, come a little bit short in terms of bulking and strength gaining compared to other compounds.

Winstrol Cycles

Winstrol cycles normally are those of lean mass and/or cutting cycles where the addition of water weight is preferred, which is why athletes such as sprinters will find solace in Winstrol compared to something like Dianabol, for example. Winstrol, due to its limitations in bulking and strength, will then normally be stacked with other compounds if Winstrol cycles are indeed geared towards bulking up. With this having been said, Testosterone of any type should always be stacked with Winstrol, if only because of the suppressive effect of Winstrol on endogenous natural Testosterone production. Testosterone in some form should always be present in the body, especially during an anabolic steroid cycle. Aside from this essential necessity for Testosterone, the combination of Winstrol with Testosterone will normally serve to create a very anabolic environment when bulking is the desired goal. Oral Winstrol cycles should be run for periods no longer than 8 weeks due to liver toxicity issues, and the injectable for Winstrol cycles of no longer than 10 weeks at a time. Example of Winstrol cycles:

Winstrol Cycle Example (10 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1-10:
– Testosterone (any ester) at 400-500mg/week
Weeks 1-8:
– Winstrol (injectable) at 50mg every other day (total 200mg/week) OR oral oral Winstrol at 30mg/day

Winstrol Cycle Example (10 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1-10:
– Testosterone Enanthate at 100mg/week
Weeks 1-8:
– Winstrol (injectable) at 100mg every other day (total 400mg/week) OR oral Winstrol at 60mg/day

Winstrol Cycle Example (10 weeks total cycle time)
Weeks 1-10
– Testosterone (any ester; but preferably Propionate) at 100mg/week
– Nandrolone Phenylpropionate at 50mg every other day
Weeks 1-8
– Winstrol (injectable) at 100mg every other day (total 400mg/week) OR oral Winstrol at 60mg/day

Winstrol Side Effects

Winstrol is considered one of the more ‘mild’ anabolic steroids, but it is not without its share of side effects. Winstrol does not aromatize into Estrogen, and therefore it does not present any estrogenic side effects of any nature at any dose, so estrogenic Winstrol side effects should be of no concern. Androgenic side effects, however, can be an issue with Winstrol even though it possesses a lower androgenic rating than Testosterone (rating of 30 versus 100 respectively). Androgenic side effects can include: increased sebum secretion (oily skin), increased bouts of acne (linked to increased sebum secretion), bodily and facial hair growth, and the increased risk of triggering male pattern baldness (MPB) in individuals that possess the genetic trait required for the condition to manifest itself. Because Winstrol, as previously mentioned, is C17-alpha alkylated steroid (both the injectable and the oral), it does present liver toxicity problems. It is therefore advised that Winstrol use does not exceed 8 weeks for the oral, and 10 – 12 weeks for the injectable. Like all anabolic steroids, Winstrol side effects also include the suppression and shut down of endogenous Testosterone production through the HPTA’s negative feedback loop. Winstrol side effects in particular include negative cholesterol changes in the body, which tend to be worse than most other anabolic steroids, and this must be kept in mind by anyone considering use, as increased risk for cardiovascular disease then becomes a larger issue with Winstrol.

Buy Winstrol

Winstro, being the third most popular and widely used anabolic steroid behind Dianabol and Deca Durabolin (Nandrolone), is easily found across the globe in the various markets. Those looking to buy Winstrol will always encounter three different source types, and two different grades of product. The source types are as follows: personally known sources (AKA “gym floor sources” or “in-person sources”), internet sources that restrict buyers to minimum order limits, and internet sources that do not do this. The first two sources generally carry anabolic steroids at lower prices than the third source type due to the fact that both typically place minimum order limits to make ordering worthwhile in larger bulk amounts. Internet sources that do not set minimum order limits will offer small orders (such as single vial or single bottle orders), but at the trade-off of higher prices. Following this, all sources will carry two possible grades of product for those looking to buy Winstrol: pharmaceutical grade Winstrol, and underground lab (UGL) Winstrol. Pharmacuetical grade products are manufactured by government approved companies/corporations, and therefore produce products of higher quality but at the expense of higher cost. UGL products are illicitly manufactured products by underground labs, and although quality is unpredictable, the prices are much lower. Depending on the source types mentioned earlier, prices can vary. Pharmaceutical as well as UGL grade oral Winstrol can be found in the range of $0.03 –  $0.06 per mg of steroid, and the price is almost the same for both product types because of the commonality of the compound. Injectable Winstrol that is UGL quality will be typically found for $80 – $120 for a 10ml multidose vial, while pharmaceutical grade Winstrol, which is normally found in ampoules can be found for $15 – $20 per 1ml ampoule containing 50mg of steroid in it.
